Visitor Information
The staff at CERDEC-NVESD hopes that your visit will be productive and pleasant. The following information is provided to make your travel within the area easier. Should you require additional information, please contact us.
Security Requirements
All visitors must be sponsored by an onsite employee and are required to show a valid government issued photo identification.
US Citizens
US Citizens attending a classified meeting or conference must forward their clearance information via the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) to SMO Code W4G8286. If you do not have access to JPAS we will accept visit requests on organization letterhead faxed to (703) 704-1098 or DSN 654-1098.

Non-US Visitors
Non-US citizens must have a pre-approved Foreign Visit Request sent through their embassy if representing a foreign country or government. If representing a company or university they must submit a foreign visit request letter on their company/university letterhead with a copy of the valid passports for all visitors. An onsite government sponsor must be listed on the request and available on the date of the visit to escort the foreign nationals at all times.
Note: Green card/Permanent residents - no prior foreign visit request (embassy or local) is needed. The POC sponsoring the visitor will send an email notifying our visitor center of the visit with the visitor's green card number. Green card visitors will be badged with a "Foreign National Escort Required" badge and must be escorted to and from Gelini Gate and at all times while in the compound.

To NVESD from Tulley Gate
- Enter Fort Belvoir through Tulley Gate (Pohick Road)
- Turn right onto Gunston Road
- Turn right into parking lot after crossing 21st Street (4-way stop)
- Proceed to NVESD's Visitor Center, adjacent to Gelini Gate for check-in. To be allowed access to the NVESD compound you must be a guest invited by a badged compound employee, and have a valid photo identification.
